a conker's bad fur day–inspired video
short film · 46 s · own project
- the brief
- No brief. I filmed myself taking a Pepsi Max out of the fridge on my phone, and wanted to see that clip as an N64 game.
- the idea
- Two things set it off: the talking wad of cash in the N64 game Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Drink Grog's talking-object ads on Instagram. Then the idea just came to me: what if my Pepsi Max talked back? It's the tenth one today, and the can tells you so, loudly, in Swedish.

how it was made
The kitchen was rebuilt in Blender from my photos of what's actually in my fridge. The hands follow my own recorded hand moves, and the finished render goes through a retro CRT filter measured frame by frame from the game look I was after. I wrote the can's lines.
